Welcome 2010 Shaman Fool Style!

Welcome to Mrs. Gray Divine 2010!  Yeah, yeah, yeah I know the first of the year technically was a few weeks ago and that fact potentially makes my Welcome 2010 post irrelevant…well not quite.  Twenty-ten began under the influence of Mercury Retrograde, a time notorious for mix-ups in communication, electronics, distribution, and travel.  In my opinion, Mercury Retrograde signals a time when we may benefit from moving a little slower and listening more deeply to the nonsensical, illogical connection within.

Likenesses of this type of celestial inspiration found within Tarot are located on two cards of the Major Arcana.  The first card is #12 as the force (perhaps) helping to influence the character on the Hanged Man card into his peculiar repose.  The second card is #0 (or number 22), The Fool as the instinct driving the dog to yip and gently tug at the leg of his steamrolling human companion.

Purification is Necessary

Being light born into matter (material bodies) is a reality of science and fiction.  Different cultures share stories about what this reality means to them along with teachings on how to realign oneself with Spirit.  In just about any religion, before one can be in union with God or Goddess, the ideal of purification is necessary.

In tarot an ideal of purification by submergence in Spirit is Key 12, The Hanged Man. Three existing representations of this figure are the peace symbol, astrological glyph for Neptune ψ, and the Algiz rune.
